Health Insurance Marketplace

Open Enrollment for 2022 coverage ended on January 15. You may still be eligible to enroll in coverage outside of the annual Open Enrollment period if you have a qualifying life event -- like losing the insurance you get through your job, getting married or divorced, or having a baby. These events would qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). If you qualify for MaineCare, you can apply any time through My Maine Connection.

Most Mainers have access to more affordable coverage options. Monthly premium amounts have decreased for most Mainers due to changes made by Congress earlier this year. Help sorting through coverage options and enrolling in coverage is available at CoverME.gov. Thousands of Mainers have already enrolled in coverage. CoverMe.gov has a plan compare tool that can help you determine if your doctor and preferred hospital is in network and your prescription drugs are covered  It also has a Get Help page to direct you to someone in your local area who is trained to help you explore plans and enroll in coverage.

People can also call Maine’s free, confidential Consumer Assistance Program HelpLine at 1-800-965-7476 at Consumers for Affordable Health Care.  The HelpLine provides access to trained Assisters who can help you understand your options and enroll in coverage.

WMCA Health Insurance Navigator is Ready to Help!
