The Herring Advisory Panel will meet to discuss:
• Council Priorities for 2023 – receive an overview of the Council’s Atlantic herring priorities for
2023 and plan for the year,
• River Herring and Shad – discuss the Plan Development Team’s analysis of factors contributing to
the low 2020‐2022 river herring and shad catch estimates in the Atlantic herring fishery,
• Revisit Amendment 8 Inshore Midwater Trawl Closure – receive a summary of issues and
discussion of next steps,
• Make recommendations to the Herring Committee, as appropriate and,
• Other business, as necessary.
