What is a scoping session?

A scoping session is a meeting where the applicant explains their tentative proposal to members of the public. It’s an opportunity for members of the public to provide feedback on the proposal, prior to the applicant submitting a final application and an eventual public hearing. Scoping sessions do not determine whether the proposal(s) will be granted.

How to participate:

You can attend the session or contact the applicant directly. A copy of the draft lease applications, which includes the applicant’s contact information is available at:

http://www.maine.gov/dmr/aquaculture/leases/draftstandardapps.html

Questions about the leasing process can be directed to Maine’s Department of Marine Resources, Aquaculture Division, at: [email protected]
